TFM GROUP Obtained Prefix for New Containers

TFM TECO MARITIME (TFM GROUP’s managing company) has obtained certificate with prefix to new containers BIC-Code –TFMU.

The prefix is an integral part of BIC- Code and is issued to the containers owner pursuant to standard ISO 6346 and International Customs Convention. It is mandatory to mark it on container.

The prefix and code enable to uniquely identify the owner of the container worldwide throughout sea, rail and road trades. The prefix indicates the container owner’s exact name and address.

It is very challenging for TFM GROUP to obtain prefix to BIC-Code, because currently company gives top priority to the development of container business and upgrade of container fleet. TFM will continue to use the existing prefix (TCOU) on its own containers, until they are replaced by new ones (TFMU).
